This workshop was very well attended by members who were keen to learn how to fashion a Robin from wire. Chris Moss our tutor explained and demonstrated clearly each step required for our members to create a wire bird of their own. The materials used was a mixture of plain 1mm wire for the body with a finer wire in red for the breast and black to enhance the legs. Also on offer was gold and copper- coloured wire which could be used to enhance the bird, if you so wished. To start with, the room was very quiet as each member was concentrating hard to create the body of the bird by the twisting of the wire, necessary to create an egg-shaped body but soon a lively hum of chattering between members created a pleasant relaxed atmosphere in which to work. Plenty of tea and biscuits was available to keep everyone going and soon a flock of little birds was appearing on the tables.
Everyone agreed that it had been an enjoyable workshop and were keen to try this craft again.
