After lunch we will be entertained by a really interesting and engaging speaker, Annie Doyle. Annie published her third historical family saga, The Good Neighbour, in November 2024. The book is the final instalment in her Cocoa Girls trilogy. The story follows some of the characters from Annie’s first two novels, based on her nana’s life and long-hidden family secrets, discovered when Annie undertook some family history research. In her talk ‘Local History, Family History & My Writing Journey’ Annie sets out the background to her novels, her experience of the publishing industry and the remarkable women who inspired the characters in her stories.
