Join palaeontologist Dr Liam Herringshaw for another of his interesting walks around York. Uncover the rocks, fossils and landscapes hidden in the historic city of York, and learn about some of the remarkable Earth scientists who have lived and worked here.
From corals in the cobbles to York’s oldest building via the Microscopic Lister Sisters and the Time Lord of York, we’ll see and hear over 2 billion years of Earth history in a 90-minute stroll.
Apart from the odd cobbled section, the walking is all on flat paved surfaces. We will meet at 6.00pm on Bar Lane, just inside Micklegate Bar, and finish at York Museum Gardens at 7.30pm – after which those who would like to can adjourn to a local hostelry and / or go for a meal in a local restaurant
