Your Federation have organised a c.8km (c. 5 miles) walk to enjoy the summer fields between Thirsk and South Kilvington.
Starting at WI House, Front Street, Norby, YO7 1BG we will follow a circular walk taking us on footpaths, behind Thirsk Church towards South Kilvington and the Mill with its 200 year old mill race. Returning alongside Cod Beck you will note very old oak and ash trees as well as the signs of the medieval strip fields once the norm in this area.
The route is mainly on flat grass with occasional ruts on farm tracks. It can be muddy after rain so walking boots are recommended. A buffet lunch will be served in WI House on our return. (Please state any dietary requirements). Meeting at 10.00am for 10.30 start.
