Come and join us at Redcar Beach for a walk with a difference.
Redcar Beach is an often overlooked location on the Yorkshire / Cleveland Coast, but is one of the best places for unique geological discoveries. With consistent mollusc fossil finds including many rare ammonites not found elsewhere, it is a very special location.
Our expert guide, Dr Liam Herringshaw will lead us on a 4 hour journey back through the ages and introduce the fossils that can be found from Earth’s distant past at this wonderful geological spot.
The only kit you will need is footwear with good grip and ankle support (the steps onto the beach and the rocks can be slippery), and warm, waterproof clothing. Walking poles are useful for those who want a bit more support, and the only geological kit you will want is a magnifying glass which Liam can supply should you need one.
Please note that we recognise that many of our members work and so priority may be given to working members for the session on 6th June.
